Gabereau is Flirting is an independent short film made by weekend filmmaker Matthew Frederick Davis Hemming in 1996. It was discovered stored in an ice hut in 2004, digitized, and then some major repairs were made to the seriously damaged audio track by digital sound wizard Joshua Benjamin Hemming in the winter of 2005. Gabereau is Flirting is a work that is very personal to the filmmaker, who describes it as, "largely metaphorical, amateurishly executed, pretentious and difficult to follow...but kind of funny in parts." The "Gabereau" of the title references ex-CBC Radio One personality Vicki Gabereau.
